In Cyprus, after the Turkish invasion of 1974, the creation of a separate Court of special jurisdiction, the Rent Control Court was followed. This Court has jurisdiction to adjudicate cases concerning the recovery of possession of a rental property, the determination of the legal rent and any other incidental or supplementary matter, provided that the Rental Housing Law of 1983 (L. 23/1983) applies.
The abovementioned Law concerns and applies to cases of a rental relationship where specific conditions listed therein are cumulatively met.
